Amaravati capital city works to be completed in three years: CM Naidu

Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said that capital city works in Amaravati have gained significant momentum and the city will be completed within the next three years.

Asserting that Amaravati is being developed with a long-term vision, he said it would emerge as the most liveable city in the country.

He also stated that the Polavaram Project is nearing completion and will be dedicated to the nation before the Godavari Pushkarams in 2027.

Call for team spirit, best practices

Addressing the third Ministers and Secretaries Conference at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister advised ministers and senior officials to work with a strong team spirit and adopt best practices to deliver effective governance.

He stressed that collective responsibility and coordinated functioning were essential to achieve development goals and ensure public welfare.

Revamping outdated laws

CM Naidu underlined the need to review and revamp outdated Acts that have outlived their utility. With the Government of India also examining old laws, he said, Andhra Pradesh should become a role model by simplifying regulations, removing redundant clauses and making governance people-centric

He emphasised that modern laws, combined with technology, would ease implementation and improve service delivery.

Technology-driven governance

Referring to discussions at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Chief Minister said Artificial Intelligence and energy transition were key global focus areas.

In line with this, the State government is adopting deep technologies such as AI, quantum computing and data centres to improve administrative efficiency and raise living standards.

Welfare and development balance

Highlighting the coalition government’s performance over the last 19 months, CM Naidu said welfare and development were being pursued simultaneously.

The government spent Rs 1,100 crore on market intervention to ensure better prices for farmers’ produce and credited Rs 10,000 crore to farmers’ accounts within 48 hours of paddy procurement.

He said new pattadar passbooks with government emblem, QR codes and blockchain-based tamper-proof features are being issued, while Rs 24,000 crore has been spent on irrigation development.

Industry, infrastructure and green initiatives

The Chief Minister said the foundation stone for Quantum Valley was laid in Amaravati, while global companies, including Google, are setting up large data centres in Visakhapatnam.

A Green Ammonia project has been launched in Kakinada as part of the State’s clean energy push. He added that roads worth Rs 3,000 crore would be laid, the State would be made garbage-free by March, and drinking water would be provided to every household under the Jal Jeevan Mission for Rs 25,000 crore.

Health sector reforms

CM Naidu described the Sanjeevani project, under which the University Health Scheme will be implemented, as a game-changer for the health sector.

Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan stressed the need for effective field-level performance by officials and closing gaps in service delivery. Chief Secretary K Vijayanand delivered the inaugural address.
