New Delhi: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a special nationwide drive encouraging users to report unclean toilets at toll plazas. An amount of Rs 1,000 will be credited to the FASTag account of whistleblowers for each valid report. The initiative will remain open until October 31, 2025.
According to an official statement, highway users can upload geo-tagged and time-stamped photographs of dirty toilets through the latest version of the ‘Rajmargyatra’ mobile app, along with details such as their name, location, vehicle registration number (VRN), and mobile number.
Each verified complaint will earn a Rs 1,000 FASTag recharge. It will be credited to the FASTag-linked vehicle registration number. The reward, however, is non-transferable and cannot be claimed in cash.
The scheme applies exclusively to toilets constructed, operated, or maintained by NHAI, and excludes those located at fuel stations, dhabas, or other public facilities not under its jurisdiction.
As per the guidelines, each vehicle can receive only one reward during the entire campaign, and each toilet facility will be considered for a reward only once per day, regardless of how many reports are submitted for that location.
If multiple users report the same toilet on a single day, only the first valid entry will qualify for the reward. Submissions will undergo AI-assisted verification and manual checks to ensure authenticity. Manipulated, duplicate, or previously reported images will be rejected, NHAI added.
