New Delhi: Former MP Ashok Tanwar on Friday said that the BJP does not have faith in the Constitution or Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
Addressing a press conference after joining the party at the AICC headquarters along with the party treasurer Ajay Maken here, he expressed faith in Rahul Gandhiās mission to save the Constitution.
āStrengthen the fightā
Tanwar joined the Congress on Thursday at Mahendragarh in the presence of the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
Welcoming him back into Congress, Maken said, Tanwarās joining the party will further strengthen the fight initiated by Rahul Gandhi to save the Constitution and take forward the ideals of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
He observed, given his rich experience, having been the Indian Youth Congress president and also the Haryana Pradesh Congress president, the party will emerge stronger.
āBJP lacking faithā
Speaking on the occasion, Tanwar said he had joined the BJP just a few months ago but realised that the desired faith in the Constitution and the teachings of Dr Ambedkar was lacking there.
He said, in contrast to that, Rahul Gandhi had launched a nationwide campaign to propagate the ideals and teachings of Dr Ambedkar and also to save the Constitution and reservations.
Replying to a question, Tanwar said he had realised the importance and strength of the Congress while remaining outside it. He assured that he would always remain with the party, now that he had already seen the reality of other political parties.
He appealed to the people of Haryana that for the progress of everyone, they must vote for the Congress, as it was the only party that takes everyone along and respects everyone.
