CM Naidu meets Defence Minister, proposes setting up military aircraft manufacturing facility in Andhra

New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and commended the armed forces and the Defence Ministry for successful execution of Operation Sindoor.
During the meeting, he also pitched a series of proposals to establish major defence infrastructure projects across Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing the press conference, the Chief Minister informed, "I met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to personally congratulate him on the successful execution of Operation Sindoor. It was carried out with remarkable effectiveness, and the Defence Ministry has performed exceptionally well. Across the country, there is a growing sense of trust, respect, and confidence in our armed forces.
āWe also submitted key proposals from the state. In the JaggaiahpetāDonakonda cluster, where 6,000 acres of land are available, I requested the establishment of missile and ammunition production units.ā
He said they proposed setting up facilities for military and civil aircraft manufacturing, along with electronics production in the LepakshiāMadakasira region where 10,000 acres of land is available. The Defence Minister responded positively to the idea of building a full-fledged aerospace ecosystem.
Additionally, he requested the establishment of naval equipment production and weapon testing facilities in the VisakhapatnamāAnakapalli region.
In Orvakal, Kurnool, where 4,000 acres are available, he proposed developing units focused on military drones, robotics, and advanced defence components."
CM Submits Electronics Manufacturing Plan to Union Minister :
Naidu met Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on Friday and submitted a detailed letter outlining Andhra Pradeshās strategic role in advancing Indiaās electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister appreciated the Union Governmentās initiatives, especially the launch of the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), which is pivotal to realising Indiaās vision of becoming a global hub for electronics production.
He highlighted Andhra Pradeshās readiness to complement this vision through robust policies like the Semiconductor Display Fab Policy and the Electronics Manufacturing Policy, which offer fiscal incentives and plug-and-play infrastructure to investors.
With four Electronics Manufacturing Clusters underway, a skilled workforce, multi-modal logistics, and industry-friendly governance, Andhra Pradesh stands as a key destination to absorb global supply chain shifts from China and ensure Indiaās self-reliance in electronics.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the stateās commitment to working closely with the Centre in making India a global electronics powerhouse.
