Parts of Andhra Pradesh to receive heavy rains as Cyclonic Storm Ditwah weakens
Nellore: Heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla, Prakasam, Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore, Chittoor, Tirupati, Annamayya, and YSR Kadapa districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam& Rayalaseema on Monday.
IMD’s forecast comes at a time when Cyclonic Storm Ditwah over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts weakened into a Deep Depression.
The minimum distance of the centre of the deep depression from the north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry coasts is about 80 km. It is very likely to move northwards parallel to the North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts and weaken gradually further into a depression on December 1.
During this time, squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is likely to prevail, and it is very likely to decrease, becoming Squally weather wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph from the evening along and off the south Coastal Andhra Pradesh till December 2.
Indian Meteorological Department has issued a total suspension of fishing operations in the coastal areas of Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and the south Andhra Pradesh coasts till December 2.
