Education can transform lives: CM Revanth Reddy lays foundation for Rs 200 crore IIIT in Mahabubnagar

Mahabubnagar: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday exhorted students to set high goals in life and cultivate discipline, commitment and a strong work ethic, stating that education alone has the power to transform lives and elevate individuals in society.

The Chief Minister was addressing students after laying the foundation stone for the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (IIIT) campus at Chittaboyinapally village in Jadcherla of Mahabubnagar district.

“Aim high, work hard”

Addressing students, the Chief Minister said aspirations must be lofty and matched with hard work. He emphasised the need to constantly improve language skills and knowledge with sincerity and dedication.

“Education combined with discipline and integrity will help you earn respect and recognition in society,” he told the students during an interactive session.

Government’s Top Priority: Education

Stating that the development of the education sector is the government’s top priority, the Chief Minister said Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) are being set up in every Assembly constituency to prepare students for future challenges.

He announced that Mahabubnagar district will soon have a strong educational ecosystem with IIIT, engineering, law and medical colleges. To encourage civil services aspirants, the government is providing financial assistance to candidates who qualify for UPSC mains and interviews.

Education can change destiny

Reflecting on socio-economic changes since Independence, the Chief Minister said earlier governments had land resources to distribute to the poor, but such options no longer exist today.

“The only thing the government can now give is education. Education alone can change your destiny and help you stand as responsible, empowered citizens,” he said, urging students to study with focus at least till the age of 25.

He also advised students not to forget their parents and native place, and to bring honour and recognition to Telangana wherever they go.

IIIT campus to be completed in one year

Recalling that Mahabubnagar produced Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, the first Chief Minister of the erstwhile Hyderabad State, Revanth Reddy said the district was once again getting an opportunity to shape history.

He announced that the IIIT campus, being built at an estimated cost of ₹200 crore, would be completed within one year.

Impressive student interaction

Before the Chief Minister’s address, several students spoke confidently and articulately, drawing appreciation from the gathering.

Ministers Damodar Rajanarsimha, Jupally Krishna Rao and Vakiti Srihari, Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Chinnareddy, MPs Mallu Ravi and DK Aruna, along with public representatives and senior officials from the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district, attended the foundation stone ceremony.
