Expedite Mamnoor, Kothagudem, Intergama, Adilabad airports: CM Revanth to Centre

New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday urged Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu to fast-track key airport projects in the state.

He emphasised that improved aviation infrastructure would accelerate regional growth and connectivity.

During a meeting in New Delhi, the Chief Minister sought early approvals and execution of long-pending proposals concerning Mamnoor, Kothagudem, Intergama (Anthargam), and Adilabad airports.




Mamnoor Airport: Land Acquisition completed

The Chief Minister informed the Union Minister that land acquisition for Mamnoor Airport in Warangal has been completed and requested the Centre to commence developmental works at the earliest.

At the recent Wings India 2026 held in Hyderabad, Ram Mohan Naidu had announced that the airport would be developed within two to two-and-a-half years. The project will be executed by the Airports Authority of India at an estimated cost of ₹850 crore.

The Minister noted that AAI already possesses 969 acres at Mamnoor and that the state government has acquired and handed over an additional 200 acres as requested by the Centre. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka had formally submitted the land documents to the Union Minister.

Kothagudem Airport: Survey and Feasibility sought

Regarding the proposed airport at Kothagudem, the Chief Minister stated that suitable land has been identified at Palvoncha. He urged the Ministry to conduct the mandatory Obstacle Limitation Surface (OLS) survey and feasibility study to enable the project to move to the next stage.

Intergama (Anthargam) Airport: Alternative site identified

On the Intergama (Anthargam) airport proposal, the Chief Minister conveyed that an alternative site has been identified. He sought immediate approvals from the Centre to advance the project without further delay.

Adilabad Airport: Additional land ready

With respect to the Adilabad airport project, the Chief Minister informed the Minister that 249.82 acres of additional land are ready for transfer to the Central government. He requested the necessary steps to expedite development works once the transfer is completed.

Focus on Regional Growth

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy underscored that expanding aviation infrastructure across Telangana would significantly improve regional connectivity, stimulate industrial development, promote tourism, and create new employment opportunities.

The meeting assumes significance as the state government pushes for balanced regional development by strengthening air connectivity in northern and eastern Telangana, beyond Hyderabad.
