Farmer agitation completes 38 days; call for black flag protests against BJP

Shambu: Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) have called on farmers to raise black flags to show their resentment against the BJP’s policies.

Addressing media after the Kisan agitation completed 38 days, farmer leaders Manjit Singh Rai, Jaswinder Singh Longowal, Baldev Singh Zira, and Balwant Singh Behramke said that till now lakhs of devotees have participated in the Kalash Yatra of Shubhakaran Singh who was shot dead by the Haryana government.

The yatra started from Jat Bhawan of Kurukshetra, where thousands of people from different villages gathered to pay tributes to the slain farmer. Devotees had darshan of the Ashta Kalash of Shubhakaran Singh.

Leaders said a big condolence meeting dedicated to Shubhakaran Singh has been organized at Majra Piu, Hisar, in which leaders of SKM and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha will participate.

In this series, a big condolence meeting dedicated to Shubhakaran Singh will be organized at Mohra Mandi in Ambala on March 31.

Condemning the attack on the farmers and their families who were protesting against the acquisition of land in the Buxar district, the leaders said it was an outright murder of democracy.

Baldev Zira said he has received videos in which police have broken into homes and beaten up women and elderly people.

Farmer leaders also noted that the martyrdom anniversary of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev will be celebrated at Shambhu and Khanauri on March 23. He said farmers from Ladakh will also take part in the front.
