Greenfield corridor from Bharat Future City to Amaravati: CM Revanth urges Gadkari to speed up approvals

New Delhi: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has urged Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to fast-track approvals for key road projects, including a 12-lane greenfield corridor from Bharat Future City to Amaravati and Bandar Port.

He said the Greenfield corridor was crucial for Telangana’s trade and connectivity.

Greenfield corridor to Bandar Port

The Chief Minister reminded that under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, a Greenfield road linking the capitals of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh must be built.

Since Telangana is landlocked, he said the Bharat Future City–Amaravati–Bandar Port route would enable seamless cargo movement. Of the total stretch, 118 km lies in Telangana, with the remainder in Andhra Pradesh.

Regional Ring Road Push

Revanth Reddy stressed that 90% land acquisition for the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (North) has been completed, and sought immediate Cabinet and financial clearances to begin work. He also pressed for parallel sanction of the RRR (South) to ensure balanced development.

Elevated Corridor to Srisailam

Seeking religious and regional connectivity, the Chief Minister also requested clearance for a four-lane elevated corridor through Amrabad Tiger Reserve on the Mannanur–Srisailam stretch.

He said the project would not only improve access to the Srisailam temple but also provide better links to Andhra Pradesh’s Krishnapatnam Port and towns like Markapuram, Kambham, Kanigiri, and Nellore.

New link to Mancherial

Citing heavy traffic on the existing Rajiv Highway, the Chief Minister appealed for sanction of a new Greenfield highway between Hyderabad and Mancherial. He also sought approval of road works worth ₹868 crore under the CRIF scheme.

Positive Response from Gadkari

Union Minister Gadkari responded positively, assuring that CRIF approvals will be issued within a week. On the Greenfield corridor to Bandar Port, he promised to send senior ministry officials to Hyderabad for review and hold a joint meeting with NH and NHAI officials on September 22.

The meeting was attended by MPs Renuka Chowdhury, Dr. Mallu Ravi, Porika Balaram Naik, Ramasahayam Raghurama Reddy, Chamal Kiran Kumar Reddy, and senior officials.
