India Impact Summit: Socio Story to host discussion on digital divide, livelihood on 15 Dec in Delhi

Hyderabad: The development advocacy platform, Socio Story, will organize a multi-thematic and purpose-driven event 'India Impact Summit-Moving from Ideas to Action' on 15 December in New Delhi. The major themes of discussion for the summit which will witness various panel discussions and fireside chat include digital divide, livelihood, climate change, and healthcare.

The event will see notable stakeholders, speakers, CSR leaders, and development practitioners discussing long-term sustainable strategies to address the challenges offered by the pandemic.

Padma Bhushan and eminent environmentalist Dr. Anil Prakash Joshi and Padma Shri Yogeshwar Dutt would be the guests of honour.

Socio Story said the economic and social disruption caused by the pandemic is devastating and its effects are still unfolding. The need of the hour is to look into the impact of the pandemic on people's livelihoods, their health, and the environment and to deal with this dramatic loss with the help of a collaborative effort from all the stakeholders, it said.

With an aim to support developmental organizations, the India Impact Summit would be a catalyst in bringing all stakeholders together for purpose-driven leadership and actions for a greater common good.

Other eminent speakers include Vineet Rai, founder of Aavishkaar Group; Dr. Ritesh Malik, the founder of Innov8 Coworking; Ashutosh Chadha, the director and country head (government affairs and public policy)Microsoft; Saurabh Singh, the president of ICICI Foundation; Kiran DM, the CEO of ONGC Foundation.

Also speaking at the summit is Akanksha Sharma, the global head (social impact and sustainability) of Sterlite Technologies Ltd; Ramakrishnan Ramamurthy, the MD of GMR JV Company; Praveen Karn, group CSR head of Spark Minda; and Manisha Singh, the GM and head (sustainability and CSR), India and South Asia, of Schneider Electric.

Manoj Pachauri, the founder of Socio Story, said, "While thousands of people are at risk of losing their livelihoods, enterprises are facing an existential threat. Access to quality health care has become a global challenge and needs immediate attention. To bridge this gap by bringing stakeholders on one platform, we aim at bringing to the fore inclusive, sustainable, and value-led solutions. We would also recognize and honour social impact leaders working on various UN SDGs."
