Jubilee Hills bypoll: First randomisation of EVMs and VVPATs complete

Hyderabad: The first randomisation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) for the Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency going to the bye-election has been completed, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sudharshan Reddy announced on Wednesday.

The randomisation was conducted through the EVM Management System (EMS) by the District Election Officer, in the presence of representatives from recognised National and State political parties.

Here is some data on the upcoming bypoll. The constituency will have

- 407 polling stations

- 569 Ballot Units (BUs)

- 569 Control Units (CUs)

- 610 VVPATs

Machines kept ready under lock and key

Reddy said the constituency-wise lists of randomised machines were shared with political party representatives at the district headquarters.

All EVMs and VVPATs have been placed in the designated strong room under security, with representatives of the recognised political parties present during the sealing.

He added that after the finalisation of the list of contesting candidates, details of the first randomisation will also be provided to all contesting candidates.
