Minister Surekha seeks HYDRAA’s help to protect endowment lands from encroachers

Hyderabad: Minister Konda Surekha met with HYDRAA commissioner AV Rangananth, asking for his assistance to protect endowment lands from encroachment.

The meeting was in the chamber of Konda Surekha in the Secretariat on Thursday. The minister commended Ranganath for his efforts in the restoration of Bathukamma Kunta, offering him praise for a job well done.

HYDRAA assures protection for endowment lands

During their discussion, Minister Surekha brought up the need for HYDRAA’s assistance in protecting land belonging to the Endowment Department, which falls under her portfolio. In response, Commissioner Ranganath assured the minister that he would seek the Chief Minister’s approval to take the necessary steps.

Surekha expressed her concern that Endowment Department lands are being encroached upon.

Satellite tech keeping a vigil on endowment lands

She mentioned that a DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) survey is already underway to safeguard these lands and stated that the department would focus on acquiring the necessary technical support from the government.

Ranganath provided a comprehensive overview of the work undertaken by HYDRAA since its inception. Minister Surekha acknowledged that such good work often faces challenges but praised the commissioner for his dedication to the collective good. She added that HYDRAA’s work would be recognised by all in the future.

The discussion also touched upon the issue of encroachments on nalas in Warangal, with Surekha requesting HYDRAA’s cooperation in resolving the problem. Ranganath expressed his willingness to help.
