Hyderabad: Telangana government has asked distillers to ensure adequate liquor and beer production and supply across the state in the summer.

Excise Secretary M. Raghunandan Rao and Prohibition & Excise Commissioner C. Harikiran have instructed beer and liquor manufacturers to ensure adequate production and uninterrupted supply across the state.

Focus on Summer demand

During inspections on Monday, the senior officials asked companies to align production strictly with anticipated summer demand and avoid shortages. Manufacturers were told to keep sufficient stocks ready and plan procurement.

Inspection of breweries

The Excise Secretary and the Commissioner visited UB Brewery, where they reviewed the beer manufacturing process and verified compliance with prescribed quality and safety standards.

They directed the brewery management to scale up production in line with seasonal demand and to procure raw materials well ahead of time. Similar instructions were issued to the remaining five brewery units in the State to ensure adequate production and supply.

Distillery visit and ENA production review

The officials later inspected the Empee Primary Distillery, focusing on the manufacturing process of Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA). They stressed the need for regular quality checks of raw materials used in spirit production and advised distilleries to procure inputs strictly as per demand projections.

Distillery managements were instructed to ensure steady production and supply across Telangana. State-level officials were also asked to ensure that the remaining 11 primary distilleries maintain sufficient output.

Bottling unit quality checks

Subsequently, the team visited the MS Bottling Unit at S. Itikyala, Pulkal mandal. They inspected liquor quality standards, holographic labels on bottles, and the scanning mechanism used to verify authenticity. Officials checked for any discrepancies in the supply and usage of labels.

The Excise Department reiterated that strict monitoring will continue to ensure quality compliance and uninterrupted availability of beer and liquor during the peak summer season.
