Six-time Grand Slam winner Sania Mirza, along with well-known figures such as Milind Soman, Sunil Shetty, Emran Hashmi, Imtiaz Ali, John Abraham, Dara Singh and Shankar Mahadevan, have endorsed the event on social media. Emphasising the importance of fitness and cycling, the celebrities urged citizens to take part in the initiative.

In a video message, singer Shankar Mahadevan said, “India is coming together to take a step towards fitness by cycling. I urge everyone to join our officers this Sunday and make it a memorable event.” Actor and fitness enthusiast Milind Soman added, “Fit Hum, Toh Fit India.”

Event spread across 200 centres

The event will span over 200 CBIC-GST centres nationwide, bringing together thousands of cycling enthusiasts. The initiative is part of the Fit India Movement, which began in December 2024, and has already seen participation from over 3 lakh individuals across 5,500 locations in the country.

Special event in Delhi

In Delhi, Sundays On Cycle will begin at 6:30 am and flag off at 7 am from Gate No. 1 of the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. The event will feature a special appearance by Tania Sachdev, an International Master and Woman Grandmaster in chess, who recently won a gold medal at the 2024 Chess Olympiad in Budapest. She will be joined by Rohtash Choudhury, popularly known as the Push-Up Man of India.

The event will also include yoga, rope skipping, and zumba sessions, encouraging participants to engage in diverse fitness activities alongside cycling.
