'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan': Andhra to hold medical camps for women from Sep 17 to Oct 2
A total of 14,500 medical camps will be held across the state

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh will hold special medical camps for women under 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan' and 'Poshan Maah' from September 17 to October 2.
The Abhiyan intends to ensure comprehensive screenings for women’s health issues like anaemia, hypertension, diabetes, and cancer.
The campaign will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday on September 17. It aligns with his vision for empowered communities. At the same time, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the medical camps in the state in Visakhapatnam along with Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav.
The Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan will deploy more than one lakh health camps across Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and Community Health Centres. The Abhiyan intends to ensure comprehensive screenings for women’s health issues like anaemia, hypertension, diabetes, and cancer
Key Objectives :
One of the key objectives of the Abhiyan is to support immunisation efforts and nutritional benefits to reduce maternal and child mortality rates.
The Abhiyan aims to operate on real-time monitoring via the SASHAKT portal to ensure transparency and efficiency.
The Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan has a community support system as one of its pivotal components, with Nikshay Mitras being critical to the implementation of the scheme across the country.
The campaign strengthens maternal and child health by providing antenatal care (ANC) check-ups, counselling, and distribution of Mother and Child Protection (MCP) cards to monitor health progress.
In Andhra Pradesh :
A total of 14,500 medical camps will be held across the state. These medical camps will be held in sub-health centers and teaching hospitals. 8,181 specialist doctors will participate and conduct health check-ups for women.
The Medical and Health Department has set a target of conducting health check-ups for more than one crore children and adolescents through these camps. 4,000 staff members from MEPNA, village ward secretariats, Anganwadis, and the Medical and Health Department will participate in the management of the medical camps.
Non-communicable disease screening for women :
Infants and children will be vaccinated and screened for high blood pressure, diabetes, oral cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, and other conditions.
