Telangana MPs meet in Delhi to ensure state stays on track with its priorities

New Delhi: In a move to bolster the state’s financial resources, AP Jithender Reddy, the special representative of the Telangana Government in Delhi, convened a high-level meeting with MPs on Monday evening.
The primary focus of the session, held at the Gurajada Conference Hall in Telangana Bhavan, was to streamline efforts in securing Central Government funds that align with the specific priorities of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s administration.
Advait Kumar Singh, IAS, made Secretary for state’s outreach strategy
The meeting marked a significant step in the state’s outreach strategy, introducing Advait Kumar Singh, IAS, as the newly appointed Secretary (Coordination) for the Telangana Government in Delhi.
Reddy instructed the MPs to act as a bridge between the state and the Centre, ensuring that Telangana’s developmental needs are communicated effectively to Union ministries.
The deliberations centred on several critical financial and legislative matters:
Bifurcation Promises: A detailed briefing was provided on the pending implementation of promises made during the state's bifurcation.
Fund Entitlements: The Special Representative highlighted the specific funds and entitlements currently due to Telangana from the Central Government.
Expediting Pending Issues: MPs were urged to push for the immediate resolution of long-standing pending issues to ensure the state receives its fair share of resources.
“Our goal is to work diligently to ensure that the people of Telangana benefit to the greatest extent possible from Central schemes and allocations,” Reddy stated during the briefing.
Managing politics and administration
The meeting saw active participation from several prominent MPs, including Dr Mallu Ravi, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy, Kunduru Raghuveer Reddy and Kadiyam Kavya.
The lawmakers shared their insights and provided suggestions on navigating the political and administrative landscape of the capital.
Senior officials, including Resident Commissioner Dr Shashank Goel and staff from Telangana Bhavan, were also present to provide technical and administrative context to the discussions.
The session concluded with a unified call to action for MPs to advocate for Telangana’s interests during the current legislative sessions, ensuring that the state’s growth trajectory remains on track with the government’s set priorities.
