They can’t mess with India: Rahul Gandhi urges PM to take decisive action against terror after Pahalgam attack

New Delhi: Voicing the nation’s anger and outrage over the Pahalgam terror attack, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, today asserted that people responsible for the barbaric act must pay a price.

He asked the Prime Minister to take clear and decisive action without any confusion.

“28 people were killed in cold blood. It is pretty clear who is responsible. People responsible must pay a price. The PM has to take action. Action has to be clear. And it has to be strong; without any confusion”, Gandhi demanded while adding, “PM must not dilly-dally, must not waste time, must make it very clear that India is not going to tolerate this nonsense. He can act in whatever time frame he thinks necessary, but he has to act soon”.

Addressing a press conference after returning from Kanpur, where he met the family members of one of the terror victims, Rahul Gandhi said terrorists killed the victims in cold blood without showing any mercy.

“I don’t want to comment on how it happened. I want to say, those who did it, whosoever they may be, wherever they are, they have to pay for this. And they have to pay for it properly and not in a half-hearted way”, he said, while articulating the pain and anger of the victims and the nation as a whole.

“They should remember that they can’t mess with India”, he observed, while pointing out that the opposition parties had given unambiguous support to the government. “We have stated clearly and unanimously in the all-party meeting that what happened is not acceptable”, he asserted, adding, “the entire opposition has given 100 percent support to the government and will continue to give”.

“Narendra Modi has to take action. He has to take action. The entire opposition stands with him. Those who did it have to pay for it”, a visibly outraged Gandhi said. He also conveyed the message from the families of the victims to the Prime Minister that all of them bshould e accorded martyrs’ status.
