Tirumala Brahmotsavams draw 6 lakh devotees, Rs 25 Cr in hundi

Tirupati: The nine-day Brahmotsavams at Tirumala concluded with record participation, as nearly six lakh devotees offered over Rs 25 crore in the ‘hundi’, said TTD Chairman BR Naidu.
Naidu said, “During these eight days of Brahmotsavams (till October 1), 5.8 lakh devotees had the darshan of Srivaru, and the hundi income stood at Rs 25.12 crore.”
Around 26 lakh devotees were served ‘annaprasadam’ (consecrated meals), while over 2.4 lakh devotees offered their hair to the deity through ritualistic tonsuring, upholding tradition.
The festival saw 298 troupes from 28 states performing, involving 6,976 artists. TTD also sold 28 lakh laddus to devotees during the celebrations.
To enhance the festive atmosphere, 60 tonnes of flowers, including four lakh cut flowers and 90,000 seasonal flowers, were used for decoration.
Naidu lauded the unwavering faith and participation of devotees, calling the Brahmotsavams a grand spiritual and cultural celebration that reinforces Tirumala’s prominence as a pilgrimage destination.
