To boost defence forces, Congress to take out ‘Jai Hind Yatras’ across India

New Delhi: Asserting that Pakistan needs to be taught a lesson for sponsoring heinous terror attacks like the one in Pahalgam, the Congress once again congratulated the country’s defence forces for hitting the terrorist targets.

The party also announced that in order to further boost the morale of the defence forces, it will organize ‘Jai Hind Yatras’ across the country.

Hailing ‘Operation Sindoor’, party spokesperson Dr Ragini Nayak, while addressing a press conference here today, said that the Indian Army is constantly setting new standards with its bravery and prowess and is giving a befitting reply to Pakistan.

She said the Congress had extended its full support to the government for whatever action it decided to take against Pakistan.

She referred to the Congress Working Committee meeting and the All-Party meeting, where the party president Mallikarjun Kharge and the Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi clearly said that the Congress is with the Government of India in mind, word and deed. Congress has made it clear that this is not the time for party politics, she pointed out.

Dr Nayak said that the Army is working day and night to give a befitting reply to the malicious attacks of Pakistan. “In such a situation, the Congress party has decided to take out the ‘Jai Hind Yatra' in every state of the country with the tricolor in hand to further boost the morale of the defence forces”, she said, while observing, it is necessary so that the message can be given to the world that people of all religions and communities of the country are united against the terrorist activities of Pakistan.

The Congress spokesperson observed that the tricolor is the religion of India, which unites us all.

Dr Nayak condemned Pakistan for holding state funerals for terrorists, while referring to military officers attending the funeral of terrorists killed in Indian strikes. “This is proof that Pakistan is a terrorist state”, she asserted.

The Congress spokesperson reiterated the party’s demand to accord top priority to the security of the citizens living in the border areas.

The Congress spokesperson urged the government to strongly oppose Pakistan’s plea to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for $ 1.3 billion loan, saying Pakistan will use this money to promote terrorism.
