Kuppam: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday welcomed the Union Budget 2026–27, describing it as well-balanced, forward-looking and aligned with the aspirations of a fast-growing India.

Speaking to the media at Kuppam, the Chief Minister said the Budget, presented in Parliament by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, provides clear direction for economic growth and reforms, and will help India achieve the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Congratulates Centre, expresses confidence

Naidu, whose Telugu Desam Party is a key ally in the BJP-led NDA at the Centre, congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Finance Minister for what he termed a visionary Budget.

He expressed confidence that the proposals would strengthen self-reliance, accelerate reforms and provide momentum to emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.

Focus on MSMEs, women, farmers and youth

The Chief Minister said the Budget has given top priority to MSMEs, women, farmers and youth. He noted that Andhra Pradesh has already placed strong emphasis on MSMEs and Ease of Doing Business, and the Budget offers an opportunity to further scale up these efforts.

“This Budget will further support the Ease of Doing Business policy being implemented by the State. There is scope to aggressively strengthen MSMEs and generate employment,” he said.

Boost for technology, energy and reforms

Naidu said the Budget provides short-, medium- and long-term direction, particularly in areas such as renewable energy, the one-grid nation concept and next-generation reforms.

He added that these measures would contribute to improved living standards and ease of living across the country.

High-speed rail to benefit Andhra Pradesh

Highlighting infrastructure gains, the Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh will benefit from the Hyderabad–Bengaluru, Hyderabad–Chennai and Bengaluru–Chennai high-speed rail corridors.

He said Tirupati and Amaravati would be covered under these corridors, while regions such as Palamaner and Chittoor would also benefit, improving connectivity between Hyderabad, Amaravati, Bengaluru and Chennai.

Rare earths, semiconductors and textiles

Naidu pointed out that Andhra Pradesh has been included in the dedicated rare earth corridors, opening up opportunities to extract and utilise valuable heavy minerals for critical electronics manufacturing.

He also welcomed the allocation of ₹40,000 crore for semiconductors under ISM 2.0, saying it would significantly benefit the State. The boost to the textile sector, he added, would further strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s industrial base.

Tourism, logistics and data centres

The Chief Minister said renewed focus on tourism and hospitality would aid growth in destinations such as Araku. He also noted that the logistics sector has been mentioned prominently for the first time in the Union Budget, aligning well with Andhra Pradesh’s development priorities.

Welcoming tax exemptions for data centres until 2047, Naidu said this would help India emerge as a global data hub. He added that major data centres, including those by global firms such as Google, are coming up in Visakhapatnam and will support AI-driven growth and large-scale employment.

Naidu also said the Union Budget provides momentum and clarity, and will help both the nation and Andhra Pradesh move faster on growth, reforms and inclusive development.
