WEF: RMZ Group to invest USD 10 billion in Andhra; will generate one lakh jobs

Davos: Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday announced a strategic infrastructure partnership with RMZ Group at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026.

The partnership involves a proposed investment of about USD 10 billion over the next five to six years.

The integrated projects are expected to generate employment for nearly one lakh people across digital, industrial, and logistics sectors.

The announcement was made in the presence of the State’s Minister for Information Technology & Electronics and the Chairman of RMZ Group.

Visakhapatnam to emerge as a GCC & Digital Hub

As part of the partnership, RMZ Group will develop a large Global Capability Centre (GCC) Park at Kapuluppada Phase-1 IT Park in Visakhapatnam.

Spread over nearly 50 acres, the project will feature up to 10 million sq. ft. of built-up space, aimed at attracting leading global enterprises and strengthening the city’s fast-growing GCC ecosystem.

Hyperscale data centre cluster planned

Complementing the GCC park, RMZ Group proposes to establish a hyperscale data centre cluster in the Visakhapatnam region with a targeted capacity of up to 1 GW.

Planned across 500–700 acres and to be developed in phases, the facility will support advanced digital and AI workloads, with emphasis on green power integration, sustainability, and future-ready infrastructure.

Industrial & Logistics Park in Rayalaseema

To ensure balanced regional development, RMZ Group will also set up a large Industrial and Logistics Park at Tekulodu in Rayalaseema, spanning around 1,000 acres.

The project is expected to anchor manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics activities, catalyzing industrial growth and creating significant employment opportunities in the region.

Investment, Jobs, and Growth

Together, the GCC park, data centre cluster, and industrial-logistics hub represent a combined USD 10 billion investment, with large-scale job creation across IT, data centres, manufacturing, and logistics.

Speed of Doing Business Emphasised

The State Government reiterated that speed of doing business remains its key differentiator, supported by single-point facilitation, time-bound approval,s and timely land allotment.

With a predictable policy framework and strong execution capabilities, Andhra Pradesh continues to position itself as one of India’s most competitive destinations for large-scale infrastructure and digital investments.

$12 Billion Brookfield investment in Andhra Pradesh gains pace after Davos talks

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government said its strategic $12 billion partnership with Brookfield Asset Management is moving at an accelerated pace, following high-level discussions on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos.

The review meeting was held between Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT, Electronics, and Education Nara Lokesh and Brookfield President Connor Teskey, during which both sides agreed to fast-track implementation of projects envisaged under the landmark memorandum of understanding signed in Visakhapatnam last year.

Review of progress since London meet

Officials said the Davos interaction focused on progress achieved since the leaders’ earlier meeting in London and on expediting next steps under the $12 billion MoU signed at the CII Partnership Summit.

The agreement is among the largest clean-infrastructure commitments announced at the summit and reflects Andhra Pradesh’s growing appeal as a destination for large-scale, sustainable investments.

Vizag as a Data Centre and Digital Hub

A key focus of the discussions was Brookfield’s proposed gigawatt-scale, clean-energy powered data centre campus in Visakhapatnam.

The project aligns with the State government’s vision of positioning Vizag as a national hub for data centres and digital infrastructure, supported by reliable green power and port-led connectivity.

Renewables, Storage, and Green Hydrogen

The talks also covered Brookfield’s plans in renewable energy, energy storage systems,s and green hydrogen pilot projects. These initiatives are proposed near Andhra Pradesh’s port-led industrial clusters, leveraging the State’s long coastline, logistics advantages, and integrated clean-energy ecosystem.

In addition, both sides reviewed large-scale renewable deployments being executed in the State through Brookfield’s platform with Axis Energy, Evren, which is developing utility-scale solar and wind projects to provide low-cost green power to industries and digital infrastructure.

Government assures Speed and Policy Certainty

Speaking on the partnership, Minister Nara Lokesh said Brookfield’s commitment underscores Andhra Pradesh’s ambition to build future-ready infrastructure at scale.

He noted that the collaboration spans clean-energy powered data centres, renewables, storage, and green hydrogen, with a focus on speed of execution and long-term sustainability.

The State government reiterated its assurance of policy certainty, fast-track approvals, and world-class infrastructure to ensureth timely execution of the proposed investments.

Officials said the partnership fits into Andhra Pradesh’s broader strategy of integrating renewable energy, storage, digital infrastructure and port-led manufacturing, positioning the State as a leading hub for next-generation sustainable industries.
