In Mr. Owaisi's view, the objectives of demonetisation were not achieved which clearly shows the failure of the Central government.

Mr. Owaisi said the Prime Minister should take moral, ethical, and political responsibility and recalled the PM's 2016 speech when he said demonetization will curtail the circulation of black money. He pointed out that as per RBI data, 31.18 lakh currency notes are in circulation now. It has doubled from 2016 when it was 17.97 lakh.
The AIMIM chief asked if demonetisation was good and successful. "Why did the BJP not celebrate demonetisation?" he asked and said 99.30% of the money is back in the system as per RBI which indicates no black money was recovered.
He further said India's GDP was 8.3% in 2016-17 before demonetisation but it fells 4% before the pandemic started. This shows that the Modi government's action was wrong, he alleged. In Mr. Owaisi's view, the objectives of demonetisation were not achieved which clearly shows the failure of the Central government.
The Hyderabad MP also condemned the terrorist attack in Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir. He demanded the government take responsibility because it was a big failure of the BJP government. He said the government should always be alert to tackle terror activities.
The AIMIM MP extended his full support to the Jain community and said the government should respect their faith and belief. He asked the Gujarat government to rectify its mistake and take action against those who hurt the sentiments of the Jain community.
