Will form govt at Centre; 30L vacancies to be filled from Aug 15: Rahul Gandhi

MEDAK (TELANGANA): Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed confidence that the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) will form the government at the Centre on June 4, 2024.

Gandhi also set August 15 deadline for launching a recruitment drive to fill up 30 lakh vacancies in various government departments.

Addressing a public rally here today, reiterated his commitment to save the constitution of the country. He told the gathering that the constitution was not an ordinary book, as it protected the rights and reservations of the people of the country. He said it had been created with the blood and sweat of the people of the country and no power on earth can change it.

Gandhi alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi worked for just 22-25 people. He said he finished the public sector and government companies and privatized them to finish the reservation. He said Modi also introduced contractual jobs, again aimed at finishing the reservation.

“They want to finish the reservation while we want to take it beyond the 50 percent cap”, he said, while adding, “Fight is about that”.

He said the backwards, the Dalits, the Adivasis, the minorities, and the poor from the general castes together constituted about 90 percent of the country’s population, while their share and participation in all important institutions and decision-making bodies was nil or negligible.

Gandhi explained why the INDIA government would be carrying out the caste census like the Telangana government did. He said this would help all the backwards, the Dalits, and the Adivasis to recognize their strength and share. He said the country's politics will be revolutionized after that. Otherwise, he added, just 2-3 percent of people had monopolized everything in the country and they had complete control over the government and the private sector.

Announcing the guarantees of the Congress, he said like Modi made 22 billionaires, the Congress will make crores of millionaires (lakhpatis) by depositing Rs one lakh every year in the bank account of one lady member of every poor family.

Asserting that this will be a revolutionary step that no government in the world has done so far, he said, it will lead to “jump starting” the Indian economy.

Elaborating, he said that once every family across the country gets a minimum of Rs 8500 per month, it will increase their purchasing power. Once they start purchasing things, he pointed out, the companies will start manufacturing these products. This, he added, will generate jobs for the youth.

Gandhi said the party will not stop there. He said it will also provide guaranteed first job to all fresh graduates and diploma holders through Right to Apprenticeship under which they will get a guaranteed one-year apprenticeship with a guaranteed income of Rs one lakh.

Among other guarantees, he also reiterated that the INDIA government will waive off the debt of farmers, besides providing legal guarantees on the MSP for their crops.
