Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced a reward of Rs 2.5 crore and a 1,000 square yards residential plot to Women’s Cricket World Cup winning Indian team member Sree Charani. He also offered her a Group-I post.
Sree Charani met CM Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh at the camp office here on Friday. Both congratulated her for the achievement, stating that by winning the World Cup, the Indian cricket team had revealed the power of Indian women to the whole world.
Sree Charani and former captain of the Indian women's cricket team, Mithali Raj, presented a t-shirt signed by the players of the cricket team to the Chief Minister.
Earlier, Sree Charani received a grand welcome at Vijayawada airport by Ministers Vangalapudi Anita, S Savita, Gummadi Sandhyarani, Andhra Cricket Association president Kesineni Shivanath, secretary Sana Satish and SAAP chairman Animini Ravinaidu.
