New ACA team takes charge, former cricketer Venugopal Rao felicitated

Nageshwar Raju, chairman of the Legal Committee of ACA declared the new team of office-bearers on behalf of Bhanwar Lal, Electoral Officer of ACA in Vijayawada.
The new office bearers declared elected are - President P Sarath Chandra Reddy, Vice-president VVSSKK Yachendra, Secretary V Durga Prasad, Joint Secretary K S Ramachandra Rao, Treasurer G Gopinath Reddy and Counsellor R Dhanunjaya Reddy. Apart from the six elected members, the Apex council of ACA also consists of two former Andhra first-class players (One Male and One Female Player) to be nominated by the BCCI and one senior officer from the Auditor General's office to be nominated by the Auditor-General of Andhra Pradesh.
MSK Prasad, Chairman of the BCCI Senior Selection Committee attended the meeting. He also participated in handing over the mementoes to the outgoing team of office-bearers. Newly sworn in president, P Sharat Chandra Reddy felicitated the entire outgoing team for their wonderful services to the ACA.
Former Indian cricketer from Vizag city, Y Venugopala Rao, who is the product of the ACA, declared his retirement from all formats of the game and was felicitated by the new ACA team on Friday
Speaking on the occasion, Sarat Chandra Reddy said that Y Venugopala Raoās contribution to ACA is of immense value. During his long career as a player, Venugopal had crossed several milestones and made his mark in history.
MSK Prasad also recollected memories of him playing together with Venugopal. He reiterated that Venu had tremendous batting skills, which are exceptional.
Responding to the kind comments, Y Venugopala Rao said that itās all because of his parentsā sacrifice. He recollected his days from Gajuwaka gully cricket to his long journey to Team India. He thanked all the ACA members, administrators, coaches and fellow players who had paved his way to this pinnacle. He specially thanked the ACA Office Bearers for this wonderful felicitation done for him.
