Karimnagar : Police personnel of Karimnagar Commissionerate in Telangana, have gone beyond their call of duty, not only sticking to their motto of " People Friendly Policing" , but have become animal friendly cops. They had helped a buffalo in labor, deliver a calf on Thursday.

A note released on the incident reads, "Karimnagar Cops are indeed saviours not just for people but also animals in distress. This is yet another instance of Karimnagar Police going the extra mile and beyond the call of duty. The men in khaki have yet again proved their good Samaritan nature in addition to performing their normal duties."

On Thursday afternoon, Home Guard Rajendra Prasad of Ellanthakunta Police station was on Blue Colts patrolling duty. In the process, he spotted a Buffalo in labor at Laxmajipalli village, suffering from severe pain.

He tried calling for help but the place being a remote village, had no immediate access to a veterinary doctor. Without wasting time, he acted immediately and went to the buffalo's rescue. With his prior experience, he helped the animal deliver a calf at 2.14pm on Thursday.

Appreciating their humane gesture, " #TelanganaPolice not only helps the #HumanBeingsInNeed but also the animals around indeed." Telangana Police shared on their official twitter handle.
