On way to hospital for dialysis, 25 YO dies in road accident at Begumpet

Hyderabad: A 25-year-old woman, who was on her way to a hospital for dialysis, died in a road accident at Begumpet in Hyderabad.
Identified as S Madhu of Jawahar Nagar in Shameerpet. she was riding pillion on her cousin Chakrapani's motorbike when the accident occurred.
According to Begumpet police, Madhu was suffering from kidney-related ailments for the past two and a half years.
On Saturday, she started from home on her cousin's bike to Osmania hospital for dialysis. When they reached Parade Grounds near Secunderabad, Chakrapani lost control of his bike and skidded off the road.
Madhu sustained a head injury and succumbed late on Saturday. Chakrapani also was injured. He is said to be recovering.
Due to the lockdown, all ambulances in the state are on COVID-19 duties, forcing patients to opt for other travel options. The police department has also been assisting patients with transportation facilities.
Cyberabad police have launched thirteen ambulances and Rachakonda police have also launched seven ambulances to cater to the needs of such people in different parts of the city. Further, the police patrolling vehicles are also coming to the rescue of people in emergencies, especially pregnant women.
