Hyderabad: A youth was killed and five others sustained injuries when their speedy Hyundai Accent car jumped from a flyover and crashed into a road at Bharath Nagar.

Police said Mohd Sohail, a hotel owner, died on the spot and his friends Sunil, Irfan, Ashwak, Ghouse and Sohel sustained injuries.

Inquiries revealed that the deceased Sohel was sitting on the front seat beside the driver. During the fall, the car landed on the side where he was sitting. He suffered multiple injuries and died on the spot.

Sanathnagar police have registered a case and started investigation.

It may be noted that this is the second incident since November 2019, when vehicle crash caused a fatality on the flyover. A woman standing on the road died after a car flying from flyover crashed into the road in November last year.

Sources said a private bus and two cars recently jumped from the flyover without causing any death or injury.
