Osmania University declares results of UG programmes
By Newsmeter Network Published on 7 Feb 2020 1:34 PM GMTHyderabad: The examination branch of Osmania University declared the results of first, third, and fifth semester students of various undergraduate programs like BSc, BCom, BA, and BBA on 7 February. As many as 2,12,886 students appeared for the examination, of them 82,857 have passed.
A total of 79,785 students appeared for the first-semester examination, of them only 30,239 passed the examination. In the third semester, of the 72,099 students who appeared for the examination, only 25,785 passed. In the fifth semester, over 61,002 students appeared for the exams, only 26,833 passed the examination.
The pass percentage for the first semester is 37.90 per cent, for the third semester it is 35.76 per cent, while for the fifth semester it is 43.99 per cent.
Of the 25,077 students who appeared for BSc first semester exams, only 8,252 students passed and secured a pass percentage of 39.34 per cent. In BCom first semester, 41,528 students appeared for the exams, of them 15,918 students passed. Of the 7,633 BA first-year students who appeared for the exam, only 2,723 students passed.
Meanwhile, this is the first time students are able to check their results on the OU students app. In a first-of-its-kind, this app was exclusively developed for OU students to check their exam results. A student can log in with his/her hall ticket number and search for the results. Students can also check their results on the official website of Osmania University at www.osmania.ac.in .
The OU controller of examinations, Mr Venkatesh Sriram, told Newsmeter, "The results of all three semesters are as usual except BCom third semester. Two papers were difficult, hence the number of students who passed has dipped. This is also the first time students can check their results on the OU student app. The app was developed by a third party without any cost. Students can download it from Play Store like any other app and can get instant updates of his/her results on their registered mobile number."
