Petition filed in HC seeking whereabouts of Chief Minister KCR

Hyderabad: A petition has been moved before the Telangana High Court seeking direction to the state government to inform the people of Telangana about the health condition of the Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his whereabouts. The petition was moved by Chintapandu Naveen Kumar alias Teenmar Mallanna.

He said that the Chief Minister was last seen during the inaugural of former Prime Minister P.V. Narsimha Rao’s birth centenary celebrations. Since then, there has been no information about him or his whereabouts.

The Telangana state government has taken several measures to control the pandemic, in line with the Union Home Ministry guidelines, and the Chief Minister himself has addressed several press conferences during the pandemic, to inform people about the steps the government was contemplating to prevent further spread of the virus, Naveen Kumar informed the court.

He also informed the court that there were news reports that around 30 people working in the Chief Minister’s camp office at Pragati Bhavan tested positive, following which the CM had moved to the farm house. This news had been widely circulated by people across the state.

This has left many people worried about the Chief Minister’s health. People of the state are concerned about his health as he is not only the Chief Minister but also a great statesman, who had spearheaded and realised the long-felt dream of a separate state.

Naveen Kumar also mentioned that during the inaugural of centenary celebration and the launch of Phase-VI of the Haritha Haram plantation drive, which the Chief Minister had attended, around 100 people had joined him.

On both the occasions, they had violated social distancing norms and did not wear masks even, which is raising more doubts about the health and safety of the CM. He also contended that the government, authorities and departments concerned are not functioning properly in the absence of the CM.

In the light of all these circumstances, he urged the court to inquire about the whereabouts of Chief Minister and apprise the state and the people about it and also his health condition
