Physically challenged couple ends life after family objects to relationship at Nalgonda

Nalgonda: A speech-impaired girl and a hearing-impaired boy ended their lives after their families objected to their relationship, on the outskirts of Palem Stage in Nalgonda district on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Ashwini and Shaik Mastan Vali. Both were suspected in a relationship, police said. Charred bodies of the duo were found on the outskirts of Palem Stage in Nalgonda district on Thursday.

“Prima facie it is a suicide due to relationship issues. Further probe is underway to find out if there are any reasons that forced them to take the extreme step,” Nalgonda district police said.

Ashwini hailed from Jakkampet village of Edavelly Mandal in Nizamabad district. Vali hailed from Kuntigorlagudem village of Nidamanuru Mandal in Nalgonda district.

Both were working in the same company at Mehdipatnam area in Hyderabad. For the last one year, they were in a relationship.

Vali, however, had already been married and was residing with his wife in the city for four years.

A few days ago, their families got to know about their affair and warned them to stay away from each other. However, they ran away from Hyderabad.

A missing report was lodged in Langar Houz police station in Hyderabad city, police said.

Police also Ashwini made a video call to her family members and explained to them about her decision in sign language. However, by the time they alerted her friends, the duo was found dead.
