PK Sinha appointed as Principal Advisor to Prime Minister Modi
By Bhartendu Sharma Published on 11 Sep 2019 1:11 PM GMTDelhi: PK Sinha, who had till date been functioning as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has now been appointed as the Principal Advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sinha served as the Cabinet Secretary from June 13, 2015, to August 30, 2019. He was a 1977 Batch IAS officer from Uttar Pradesh Cadre. During his illustrious career, Sinha also served as the secretary in the Ministries of Power and Shipping. Apart from this, he also served as special secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

PK Sinha completed his graduation in economics from St. Stephen’s College in Delhi and thereafter finished his post-graduation from the Delhi School of Economics.
During his long stint, Sinha has also served both in the state government of Uttar Pradesh and at the level of Central government.
At the state government level, Sinha held various assignments such as district magistrate of Jaunpur and Agra, Commissioner of Varanasi, Secretary (Planning) and Principal Secretary (Irrigation), etc.
He also served in the Central Government for many years – mainly in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
