Police inspector arrested by ACB for taking bribe in Nizamabad
Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested Inspector of Police, Sub Inspector and a constable of Bodhan Town police station in Nizamabad District red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 and a Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5G mobile phone worth Rs 1,03,999.

According to the ACB, Bodhan Town Police Station Inspector P Rakesh demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 and a Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5G mobile phone from complainant Mohammed Sajid Ahmed to not to register a false case against the complainant and to release his Royal Enfield Motor Cycle which was kept by the police at the Bodhan town PS.

"The trap amount of Rs 50,000 and the mobile phone were recovered from his possession at his instance. Fingers of both the hands yielded positive result in chemical test," said ACB after the arrest.

ACB also arrested SI Sri Mogulaiah and Constable driver A Gajendra for abetting the acts of the inspector. ACB has produced the accused in court for remand.

Earlier on October 28, the sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested two police officials, a sub-inspector and a constable, red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 30,000.

According to the ACB, Gandhinagar Police Station SI Lakshminarayana demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a complainant in connection with a cheating case. Later, they agreed on Rs 30,000.

The victim then approached the ACB officials. On Wednesday, the ACB arrested Lakshminarayana and a constable red-handed while taking the bribe. Both the officials were sent for custody after appearing in court.
