While it was rumoured that the pub was also supplying liquor illegally and a huge quantity of liquor was seized from the premises, police denied the claims saying that there was no illegal supply and only the kitchen was kept open for maintenance activity.
Based on a tip off, task force teams raided the pub located on Jubilee Hills Road No. 10 and searched the premises. They found a few workers engaged in some work in the kitchen at the pub and shifted them to Jubilee Hills police station. Further, the Excise department was also informed about the raids. Excise officials confirmed that the stocks at the pub before the lockdown were enforced and the stocks during the raids were intact. Further, police after inquiry registered a case against the pub management and the workers for violating the lockdown orders and keeping the kitchen open.
Police also said that a thorough investigation will be conducted to know the purpose of keeping the kitchen open and if there was any violation from the management or the staff. It may be noted that while announcing the lockdown, the state Government not only banned alcohol, but also ordered closure of all bars, pubs and other places where liquor is served.
