` Yuva Galam': TDP blames Jagan for dragging feet on Nara Lokesh's padayatra
"Jagan Mohan Reddys government is worse than British dictatorship.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 23 Jan 2023 4:44 AM GMTAmaravathi: TDP leaders have blamed Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for dragging his feet over TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh's 4000-km-padayatra.
"Jagan Mohan Reddys government is worse than British dictatorship. The State did not witness such authoritarianism even during Emergency in 1975,” said TDP politburo member Varla Ramaiah.
Nara Lokesh, will be starting 4000-km-long ' Yuva Galam' on January 27. He will personally meet youth to know their problem and explain the current scenario to them. He will also share his vision and road map.
"I wrote a letter to the Director General of Police (DGP) KV Rajendranath on January 9 seeking permission for Lokesh's padayatra. Until January 20, the DGP did not respond. When I sent a reminder, he sent a letter the next day seeking all the details like who will be meeting Lokesh and where," said Varla Ramaiah.
He said that the letter appeared to be very ridiculous as the DGP wanted the details of the vehicles in Lokesh's convoy, the route map, and other particulars. "When Lokesh is undertaking the padayatra for 4000 days, how will anyone know who will be meeting and where, when, and in which village," he questioned.
"Lokesh will be meeting lakhs of people including the youth, particularly those affected by the government policies. How can such details be provided," he added.
Expressing doubts about whether the DGP has drafted the letter or the Advisor to the Government Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy the TDP politburo member said he was surprised that an IPS officer will raise such doubts.
"Even the Britishers did not seek such details from Mahatma Gandhi when thousands followed him in his padayatra," Ramaiah remarked.
"When the Late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the father of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, undertook pada yatra during the Chandrababu Naidu's government, no such issues were raised and no obstructions were caused to his pada yatra".
