The case pertains to an incident on October 19, 2021, when a large group of YSRCP supporters attacked the TDP office following controversial comments made by TDP spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram against the then Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The attackers forced their way into the office, causing damage to the furniture.
Police investigation revealed that Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy was present at the scene during the attack. Former YSRCP MLC Nandigama Suresh, MLCs Lella Appireddy, Talasila Raghuram, and party leader Devineni Avinash were also implicated in the case.
Recently, Andhra Pradesh government has handed over the two cases, the TDP office attack case and the attack on Chandrababu Naidu's residence, to the Crime Investigation Department (CID).
A day prior, DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao confirmed that Guntur police had issued a lookout notice for Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. On Monday, immigration officials at New Delhi Airport briefly detained Reddy upon his return from abroad as he was preparing to board a flight to Hyderabad. He was subsequently allowed to proceed and took a later flight to Hyderabad.
In response to the notices, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy expressed confidence in the judicial system. He stated, "The TDP government knew that I had gone abroad and issued a lookout notice. I left for abroad on October 7, and the notice was issued on October 10. False cases are being filed against YSRCP leaders. We will address this in a court of law."
Addressing the media, Reddy also mentioned that he had been falsely implicated in the Actress Jetwani case and referred to other allegations, such as claims that YSRCP leaders had planned to destroy the Prakasam Barrage with boats. He asserted, "The TDP is solely focused on filing false cases against YSRCP leaders."
