6 TRS candidates elected MLCs unopposed; elections to 6 constituencies on Dec 10

TRS candidates will face Congress on two seats in Khammam and Medak districts. TRS will face independents in Adilabad, Nalgonda, and Karimnagar districts.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Dr. Shashank Goel on Friday said six TRS candidates were elected unopposed to the Telangana Legislative Council under Local Authorities Constituencies.

Dr. Goel said Returning Officers of Warangal, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, and Rangareddy local authorities' Constituencies have reported that the biennial elections are uncontested and declared TRS candidates as elected unopposed.

Those elected include Pochampally Srinivas Reddy (Warangal), Kalvakuntal Kavitha (Nizamabad), K Damodar Reddy & Kasireddy Narayan Reddy (Mahabubnagar), and Patnam Mahender Reddy & Sunkari Raju (Ranga Reddy), the release added.

The elections to the six remaining vacant seats will be conducted on December 10. TRS is pitted against Congress on two seats and independents on four others.

TRS candidates will face Congress on two seats in Khammam and Medak districts. TRS will face independents in Adilabad, Nalgonda, and Karimnagar districts.

Two candidates will try their luck on Adilabad LAC, three on Medak, four on Khammam, seven on Nalgonda, and 10 on Karimnagar (2 seats).

Attempts of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti leadership to make win four seats unopposed after independent candidates refused to withdraw their nominations on Friday.

As many as 24 candidates filed nominations for the Adilabad seat. However, with 22 Independents withdrawing their papers, it will be a two-way contest between Dande Vithal of TRS and Pushparani, who has the backing of tribal rights organization, `Tudum Debba'.
