Adilabad: All-India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) has dissolved its Adilabad town body after the party's Adilabad district president, Mohd. Farooq Ahmed, was booked for attempt to murder after he opened fire using a country pistol.

Condoning the violence, AIMIM general secretary said, "There is no place for violence in democracy. As a response to the incident in Adilabad, AIMIM Adilabad town body has been dissolved with immediate effect."

The video of the shooting went viral on Friday. Three persons were seriously injured in the scuffle between two groups at Tatiguda. One of the injured was shifted to Hyderabad.

A special officer on duty told NewsMeter, "A brawl broke out between two groups, reportedly parents, at around 5 p.m on Friday. The incident was in connection to a cricket match. A small quarrel between the children led to a big fight among the parents. Farooq Ahmed opened fire using a country-made pistol during the incident and also had a knife. Two persons sustained bullet injuries while one suffered a knife injury." According to a statement from the police, Syed Mouthesin was hit by a bullet and Syed Mannan sustained a head injury.

Farooq Ahmed, AIMIM's former vice-municipal chairman for Adilabad, fired five rounds, the cops added. The entire incident was captured on camera and the video has gone viral.

"Following a call, the Tatiguda II town police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to RIMS hospital and one injured was sent to Hyderabad. The licensed pistol has been confiscated," the officer said.
