Amit Shah promises BC chief minister for Telangana if voted to power

Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the party will make a member of the Backward Communities (BCs) the chief minister of Telangana after BJP comes to power in the state Assembly elections, scheduled for November 30.

“Bless BJP for we offer a BC chief minister,” said Amit Shah at the Jana Garjana Sabha in Suryapet on Friday.

Speaking at a public meeting at the district headquarters, Amit Shah said that BRS and Congress are family-centric parties and they cannot do good for the people of the State.

“Chief Minister and BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao wants his son Rama Rao to become the next chief minister while Congress leader Sonia Gandhi wants her son Rahul Gandhi as prime minister,” he said. “They wish Pariwar Kalyan (welfare of the family). Those who are committed to the welfare of their family will not do good for the people. But BJP is committed to Garib Kalyan (welfare of the poor),” he added.

Amit Shah reminds KCR of 2014’s promises

Taking a dig at BRS and CM KCR, the Union Minister asked the ruling party to answer for its unfulfilled promises made in 2014.

“Chandrashekar Rao! You promised to make a Dalit the state’s chief minister. What happened to that? What happened to three acres of land for Dalits? Where is the Rs 50,000 crore-allocation for Dalits in the budget? Why has the government failed to allocate Rs 10,000 for BCs?” questioned Amit Shah, adding that prime minister Narendra Modi has appointed a BC Commission, sanctioned Sammakka-Sarakka tribal university for Telangana, and the long pending demand for a turmeric board.

“We have appointed a Krishna Water Dispute Tribunal to solve the dispute between two states. We have directly transferred Rs 9,000 crore to the accounts of 40 lakh farmers with Rs 6,000 in each account. We are supplying potable water under the Jal Jeevan Mission, constructed toilets in the house of the poor and extended free rice for 1.9 crore families,” the home minister said, explaining the measures taken up by the BJP Government at the Centre.

Informing that Prana Pratishta for Rama Mandir in Ayodhya by PM Modi will be held in January 2024, he called upon the public to attend the grand programme.

‘Poor will get free education, medical treatment’

BJP state president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, who accompanied the home minister, promised to offer free education and free healthcare for all the poor after the party comes to power in the state.

“We will extend free education and medical treatment for the poor. All the farmers will get crop insurance,” said Kishan Reddy adding that Suryapet has the spirit of fighting against the Nizams.

He has stated that after 75 years, the Liberation Day was celebrated in Hyderabad by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. “We will offer corruption-free government and our chief minister will be available for the public. There is a need to defeat both BRS and Congress. Any vote to Congress will go to BRS as it was evident that 12 Congress MLAs are still with BRS and contesting on that ticket,” said Kishan Reddy.
