Visakhapatnam: Senior TDP leader Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu heaved a sigh of relief after the Andhra Pradesh High Court issued a stay order against cases booked against him.
The Andhra Pradesh police have booked cases against the senior leader for making derogatory comments against Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy. It is being alleged that Mr. Ayyana Patrudu, during his speech at the unveiling of a statue of TDP founder N.T Rama Rao at Nallajerla a few days ago, made derogatory and abusive comments about the CM.
After a complaint was filed by the YSRCP leader, a case under section 153A, 505 (2), and 506 of the IPC were booked at the Nallajerla police station in West Godavari district. The police also served notice to the TDP leader at his residence. A team of police was also deployed at his residence.
On Thursday, the TDP leader filed a petition in the High Court seeking the dismissal of the cases filed against him. The High Court issued interim orders restraining further action against Mr. Ayanna Patrudu.
