AP identifies 12,459 critical polling stations; webcasting to check liquor movement

Amaravati: A total of 12,459 polling stations have been identified as critical polling stations in Andhra Pradesh. Webcasting is planned to take up approximately 30,111 polling stations, which includes the critical polling stations.

According to chief electoral officer Mukesh Kumar Meena, from January 1 to March 18, Rs 179.49 crores worth of seizures have been made. From March 16 to April 17, Rs 12,191 lakhs worth of seizures have been made.




Till April 17, 7,336 FIRs have been filed in connection with the seizures.




So far, a total of 11,500 complaints have been in connection with the campaign during the ban period, liquor or money distribution, and communal speeches.




Monitoring storage, distribution of liquor

To prevent the storage and illegal distribution of liquor during the election period, the following measures have been taken:

- Webcasting of movement of liquor from distilleries/breweries.

- GPS tracking of all vehicles which carry liquor from liquor godowns of APSBCL to the liquor shops/bars and other outlets to ensure that there is no leakage of liquor during such transportation

- Webcasting of storage godowns

- Watching of feed of webcasting at the control rooms of the district election officer/chief electoral officer

- Maintenance and monitoring of the daily sale of liquor and stock

- GPS tracking of movement of liquor from APSBCL godown to liquor shops/bars.
