Srikakulam: TDP National President Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday kicked off his state-wide 'Badude Badudu' campaign from Srikakulam district to protest against the skyrocketing prices. Naidu held a 2-hour long Grama Sabha at Dallavalasa village in Ponduru Mandal of Amudalavalasa assembly constituency to have a firsthand account of problems faced by people due to increased taxes.

Speaking on the occasion, Naidu said the people of the state have been betrayed by Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said since Jagan got 151 seats, he turned unbearably arrogant. "Jagan started slamming and punishing the people with taxes and charges in an unprecedented manner. He broke the backs of poor and middle class, never to recover again," he said. thininin

Naidu said the price of palm oil was just Rs. 69 in June, 2019, but now it has touched Rs. 165. The CM has started cheating people with his J-brand of cheap liquor. "There were McDowells and Kingfisher brands in the past. But now, only harmful Jagan Reddy brand was being sold to make the people terminally sick," he said. The TDP chief recalled how the arrogant Chief Minister provoked attacks on his residence at Undavalli in Amaravati. "The ruling party's arrogant leaders insulted me and my family members. Jagan Reddy is more dangerous than Coronavirus," he said

Chandrababu Naidu asked why Jagan Reddy, who had raised Badugu slogans in the TDP regime, have increased the prices of essential commodities. "People don't get power supply, but they get inflated bills. In every service, Jagan Reddy's 'Badude Badudu' was creating new records, making the people's lives miserable," he said. Naidu said fibernet charge in the TDP rule was just Rs. 140 per month, but it has been increased to Rs. 290. "You have allowed me to serve as Chief Minister for over 14 years. But I never looted the state. Jagan Reddy is looting it at will. I never plundered or hoarded," he said.

TDP chief deplored that Andhra Pradesh was fast turning into another Sri Lanka because of Jagan Reddy's unlimited greed and massive corruption. "Not even one project was completed in North Andhra. The TDP regime attracted investments and facilitated 5.50 lakh jobs in the private sector," he said.

During his tour, the people of North Andhra rolled out a red carpet for Chandrababu Naidu. He was accorded a rousing reception at the Visakhapatnam airport and given a warm welcome in Vizianagaram en route to Srikakulam. TDP cadres and enthusiasts kept sloganeering 'Babu CM' on seeing the TDP chief. Naidu expressed concern that the Chief Minister was punishing the people of Andhra Pradesh for voting him to power in 2019. "Financial burdens were increased unbearably in the name of house tax, garbage tax, drainage tax, lighting tax, water tax, library tax, unauthorized penalties, tax arrears, and interest," he said.
