Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has strongly refuted false information given by BRS leaders on loan waiver to farmers.

Responding to questions raised by BRS Jangaon MLA Palla Rajeswar Reddy in the Assembly on Saturday, Bhatti Vikramarka said that the Congress government did not put a loan waiver pending for six years like the BRS government and waived the farmers’ loans within three months.

Rs 263 crore loan waiver in just three months

Giving a detailed response, Bhatti Vikramarka said that in Janagaon constituency represented by Palla Rajeswar Reddy, the BRS government, in its five-year tenure from 2018, waived Rs 124 crore, while the Congress government waived loans worth Rs 263 crores in just three months. In Gajwel, the BRS government waived Rs 104.3 crores during its tenure and the Congress government waived Rs 237.33 crore.

In Siddipet, the BRS government waived Rs 96.62 crore from 2018 over a period of five years, while the Congress government waived Rs 177.91 crore of farm loans in Siddipet. He further stated that while the BRS government waived Rs 101.76 crore in Sircilla, the Congress government waived Rs 175.84 crore within three months.

Bhatti also said that the data related to farmers’ loan waiver and Rythu Bharosa will be displayed even in the Legislative Assembly premises. Information about every welfare scheme along with statistics will be given to MLAs.

“Village-wise information is already displayed on the flexes. Not only details about the farmers’ loan waiver scheme but information will also be shared about bonuses given on a fine variety of paddy, free RTC bus travel for women, free power given up to 200 units,” he said.

Vice Chancellors appointed to 12 Universities

Asserting that the Congress government did not resort to mere propaganda like BRS leaders without doing the work, Bhatti Vikramarka went on to point out that the Congress government has appointed Vice Chancellors to 12 Universities that were totally neglected during the tenure of the BRS government.

For the first time, a Dalit VC was appointed for the over-100-year-old Osmania University. "Did you ever visit Women’s University in the heart of the city? The Congress government not only named it after great leader Chakali Ilamma, inspected the heritage buildings and released Rs 15 crore for repairs. The government issued orders for the construction of buildings at a cost of Rs 540 crore. This is how the Chief Minister, State Government showed their commitment to the people of Telangana,” he said.

Referring to the Young India International Schools, Bhatti said never before such schools, each in an extent of 20 acres with all amenities like digital boards, cricket, football grounds, residential quarters for teaching staff were planned and being constructed. Even the Central government did not sanction 58 integrated schools at one go.

“We are constructing each school at a cost of Rs 200 crores. This is our Chief Minister’s commitment. Our government’s commitment to the SC, ST and BC categories enables our children to compete with the world. Did the BRS leaders ever think on those lines?” The Deputy CM said the government set up India Skill University and invited industrialists like Mahindra & Mahindra to impart skills required by the industries to the students and create opportunities for their recruitment.

65 ITI as Advanced Technology Centers

"The Congress government is developing 65 ITIs as Advanced Technology Centers to provide experts required by the industries. It was wrong on your part to say that the Chief Minister has no time to focus on the Education department. We are proud of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s services to the Education department. How can you compare our CM with your former CM? Our CM works hard”, Vikramarka said.

Bhatti also said that the Congress government conducted Mega DSC for 11,000 teacher posts and efforts are on to fill another 6,000 posts. Promotions were given to 22,000 government teachers. “While you utterly neglected teachers’ transfers, we transferred 36,000 teachers. The BRS leaders could not stomach the benefits being provided to the people of the State. The State Treasury is not for political leaders like you. We will credit every rupee into the Treasury and distribute it for the benefit and uplift of the poor”, he said.
