BJP approaches SEC, seeks action against News Channel for `defaming' PM Modi
In its complaint, BJP alleged that the News Channel is being run from the TRS office. The party said the channel is deliberately telecasting fabricated news against the centre, Prime Minister, several central ministers, and other BJP leaders.

In its complaint, BJP alleged that the News Channel is being run from the TRS office. The party said the channel is deliberately telecasting fabricated news against the centre, Prime Minister, several central ministers, and other BJP leaders.
"The News Telugu Channel, which is running from TRS Party office, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, owned by CM KCR close relatives and associates is indulging in a deliberate biased campaign towards TRS and against BJP. The News Channel is continuously telecasting/ broadcasting rumors and false stories with the sole view and intention to portray BJP as a negative party by hiding facts. All the stories and scrolling being telecasted by the News Channel is completely false and aimed to defame BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah," BJP general secretaries G.Premender Reddy, Dugyala Pradeep Kumar, and Bangaru Shruthi said in a letter
The leaders also alleged that the news channel' one-sided campaign against BJP and Prime Minister is completely illegal and violating the Model Election Code of Conduct.
"The news channel knowingly telecasted false allegations on BJP and provoked people of one religion to gain benefit in GHMC elections. It violated Model Code of Conduct by telecasting TRS publicity related news and scrolling," the leaders said.
BJP noted that the news channel violated the Model Code of Conduct by distorting and fabricating news targeting the personal modesty and dignity of Prime Minister.
"It is just and necessary to initiate appropriate steps against the news channel from spreading false and baseless, partial, fabricated, manufactured antagonistic news against BJP and Prime Minister besides other BJP leaders at the earliest possible time," the BJP leaders said.
