BJP high command sees bigger role for Eatala in New Delhi says Puri

Hyderabad: If the words of Union minister and BJP senior leader Hardeep Singh Puri are anything to go by, the Central leadership of the saffron party is thinking of a bigger role for Eatala Rajender, if he gets elected as the Malkajgiri MP in the coming Lok Sabha elections. Hardeep Singh said Eatala will not be confined to working just for Telangana State but entire India and his services will be utilised for Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat vision.

“I am confident that Malkajgiri voters will ensure Eatala Rajender’s win and send him to Lok Sabha paving the way to use his vast experience in New Delhi,” said Hardeep Singh, Union minister for Housing and Urban Affairs and Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Aim to increase Cabinet berths

It may be noted that G Kishan Reddy was the lone Cabinet minister from Telangana in the BJP-led NDA government from 2019-24. With Congress and BJP at war of words over the North-South divide talk in present elections, the saffron party might look to make amends by increasing more Cabinet berths from the South, especially from Telangana and Tamil Nadu, if Modi scores a hattrick of wins in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Being a senior politician and BC leader, Eatala can be considered one of the front-runners for Cabinet berths if he wins from Malkajgiri.

Hardeep Singh informed that he flew down to attend the filing of nomination by Eatala Rajender upon instructions of the party’s central leadership giving a sense of importance being given to the senior Telangana leader. I am very happy to attend the nomination programme of Eatala Rajender from the Malakjgiri segment, considered as mini-India, he stated.

A former diplomat turned politician Hardeep Singh further lauded the services of Eatala as the health minister of Telangana State during the Covid pandemic.

Eatala went in a big procession of cars and motorcycles from his residence in Shamirpet to Medchal-Malkajgiri collectorate to file his nomination papers for Malkajgiri Lok Sabha. Earlier, addressing the party functionaries who turned up in big numbers at his residence, Eatala dismissed the survey reports calling them fake and misleading. He called upon voters and partymen to ensure no deposits for BRS and Congress in Malkajgiri.
