BJP leader Vivek Venkataswamy detained while on his way to Kamareddy

The BJP alleged that TRS party workers removed all BJP flags and started a commotion by attacking BJP leader Vivek Venkatswamy and his team. He was detained by the police without being allowed to enter the village, the party said.

Hyderabad: Alleging that TRS leaders are blocking BJP's programmes in Telangana, BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay on 22 July said that Vivek Venkataswamy, the National Executive Committee member and former MP who is in charge of Jukkal constituency in Kamareddy district, was stopped by the police while on his way to Burgul village.

TRS leaders are attacking BJP leaders and workers and the ruling party is stopping BJP activities everywhere with the help of the police, the TS BJP chief alleged. He explained that state BJP's "Palle Gosha-BJP Bharosa" programme has appointed a senior member for each constituency in Telangana to know the problems of the people and assure them of BJP's support. The leaders are required to stay in the constituencies for 10 days and know the problems of the people.

State BJP president Bandi Sanjay has condemned the arrest of Vivek Venkataswamy. National BJP leaders also condemned Mr. Vivek's arrest. Party workers protested in the districts against the arrest.
