BJP's Dr. K. Laxman elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from UP
Dr. Laxman has represented the Musheerabad constituency in the state Legislative Assembly twice

Laxman has been elected as a Rajya Sabha member unopposed from Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Laxman, who is the former Telangana BJP chief, was the party's nominee from Uttar Pradesh. BJP doesn't have any chance of winning from Telangana.
Dr. Laxman has represented the Musheerabad constituency in the state Legislative Assembly twice. He won the first time in 1999 in the united Andhra Pradesh and was again elected in 2014. He also served as the deputy floor leader of the party in the Assembly between 2014 and 2016. He was appointed the BJP state president in 2016 and continued to remain in the post till 2020 when he was appointed the BJP OBC Morcha chief.
For the three Rajya Sabha seats in Telangana, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has announced the candidature of billionaire Hetero Group chairman and managing director Bandi Parthasaradhi Reddy, businessman-turned-politician Vaddiraju Ravichandra, and Telangana Publications Groups chairman and managing director Damodar Rao Deverkonda. In Uttar Pradesh, 11 Rajya Sabha MPs, including eight from the BJP, have been elected unopposed. The eight BJP members who have been elected are Laxmikant Bajpai, Dr. Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, Surendra Nagar, Dr. K. Laxman, Mithilesh Kumar, Baburam Nishad, Sangeeta Yadav, and Darshana Singh.
Meanwhile, Kapil Sibal has been elected as an Independent candidate while Rashtriya Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary has also been elected. Both have been elected with Samajwadi Party support. Javed Ali of the Samajwadi Party has also been elected. Returning officer Brij Bhushan Dubey gave the elected members their certificates.D
