Kuppam: Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu on 25 August came down heavily on the "hooliganism" of the YSRCP government.
Mr. Naidu, who had come to inaugurate the 'Anna Canteen' in Kuppam, became furious on seeing "the barbaric attitude" of the ruling party activists and causing destruction to the Anna canteen. "Today is a black day in the history of Kuppam," he said.
Stating that the local police have miserably failed to discharge their duty, the TDP chief said, "Had the police properly discharged their duties, these YSRCP goondas would not have destroyed the canteen. Where is the district superintendent of police?"
He questioned whether the police system existed in the state and asked how come those who attacked the canteen were shifted to their houses without being taken taking to the police station?
The TDP is not scared of such attacks he said and made it clear that he will, henceforth, be more rigid in his behaviour. How dare the state government cancel bus services and close the schools in Kuppam? he asked.
Mr. Naidu said he is making arrangements to supply food to the needy wherever the YSRCP workers have damaged the canteen. "If such situations are repeated, the TDP activists will not mind going to their houses to launch counter-attacks," he said.
He also added that the TDP is taking Thursday's incident very seriously and the party will take up the fight against the YSRCP legally.
