A delegation of BRS MLAs led by KTR called on governor CP Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan here on Saturday. The governor was briefed about defections in the party and injustice being done by the Congress government to the unemployed youth in the State who have staged protests denouncing its failure to provide jobs, KTR said.
“We have brought to the attention of the governor that the Congress government promised to generate two lakh jobs in a year itself and release a job calendar. The MLAs delegation also reminded the promise given by the Congress that the Group-I, II and III notifications issued during the KCR’s tenure will be cancelled and the number of posts will be increased,” KTR told reporters.
‘Congress failed to release a single job notification’
The BRS working president said that not even a single job notification was released by the Congress government so far and it had even failed to provide an unemployment allowance of Rs 4,000 to the youth.
The governor was informed about the alleged attacks on the students on the Osmania University campus and at the City Central Library. In return, the governor assured to consider the concerns raised by the BRS MLAs delegation regarding the unemployed youth after discussing with the home secretary of the State, he said.
KTR complains about party defections under Congress
KTR further said that the governor was informed of the occasions in which the ruling party was violating procedure, weakening the significance of the BRS party’s MLAs and MLCs. The governor then promised the delegation that he would write to the administration regarding the matter shortly. Rama Rao claimed that the governor was also briefed on the matter of Congress leadership’s encouragement of BRS party defections.
The BRS working president said that as many as 10 MLAs and eight MLCs from the BRS have joined the Congress to date. The anti-defection law’s provisions were compromised. Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender who had been the BRS party’s nominee and won the Assembly elections, contested on a Congress ticket for the Parliamentary elections. The governor had promised to investigate the matter of defections and take appropriate action within the bounds of his position, he added.
KTR further stated that the president and the leaders of other relevant institutions would be briefed on all the urgent problems that the people of the State were facing. He made it clear that the BRS party would fight as the main opposition until Congress keeps every promise, until the Group-II and III posts are increased and justice is done to the unemployed youth in the state.
