Hyderabad: After spending close to half a year in Tihar Jail in the Delhi Liquor Scam, BRS MLC K Kavitha has marked a comeback in Telangana politics.

The former MP has become a leading voice in the Legislative Council in the ongoing winter session. On December 17, BRS MLCs wore black attires in the LC as a mark of protest against the multi-crore Musi Rejuvenation Project.

ā€œ'Will you pay the EMIs of people whose houses you (referring to the government) have demolished?ā€ she asked.

She asked on what basis has Congress government sought Rs 4,100 crore from the World Bank for the execution of the Musi Rejuvenation Project without preparing a detailed project report.

ā€œHow can Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inform Union Minister and Secunderabad MP G Kishen Reddy that Rs 14,100 crore will be spent on the Musi Rejuvenation Project? How can he seek his permission and the funds? If it is true that the government has sought support from the Center and the World Bank, then why are they misleading the House and the people?" Kavitha asked on day 1.

On Day 2, she picked up the threads where she had left on the first day. She cornered the Congress on misinformation.

Kavitha produced documents to back her claims and put Minister D Sridhar Babu in the dock for allegedly misleading the House by giving wrong information that no assistance was sought from the World Bank for the Musi Rejuvenation Project.

"Stop mortgaging the future of our state," Kavitha said.

After her release on bail, Kavitha has been undergoing treatment for different ailments. She has also reactivated Telangana Jagruthi, her brainchild.

MLA Harish Rao and Kavitha are the two leaders from the Rao family who are presently meeting people and cadres at their residences.
